What is included

What long term lets covers

Every bill in one payment

Electricity, gas, water, fibre Wi-Fi, council tax and the TV licence are included, so there are no accounts to open, no meter readings and no council tax registration when you arrive or leave.

Fully furnished

Bed linen, towels, kitchen equipment, a washing machine, a dishwasher and a smart TV in the apartments that have a kitchen. Bring your clothes and your laptop; the rest is there.

Free private parking

Every building has private parking on site, and your bay is set out in your arrival instructions. In a town of residents' permit zones that is often the deciding point.

A 24-hour gym

Free use of the gym and games room at The Shore House Hotel on the West Cliff, open 24 hours a day to every resident whichever building they stay in.

No fixed term

The minimum is 28 nights. After that you extend month by month, subject to availability, and leave with notice. There is no twelve-month contract to break.

A deposit, nothing else

A standard cleaning and security deposit is the only payment beyond the stay itself. There is no agency fee, referencing fee or inventory charge.

Support at any hour

The Flexiestays team is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for anything that goes wrong in the apartment, from a lost key to a boiler fault.

Corporate invoicing

Companies booking for staff receive VAT invoices and a named account manager, and can hold several apartments in one building for a team.

On this page

A long term let with Flexiestays is a furnished apartment in Bournemouth that you rent for 28 nights or more, with every bill included and no fixed term. Electricity, gas, water, fibre Wi-Fi, council tax, the TV licence, a parking space and a 24-hour gym are in the price, and the only payment beyond the stay is a standard cleaning and security deposit. The apartments are the group's, in eight buildings on the West Cliff and St Michael's Road, a few minutes from the beach and the town centre.

What is included

The apartments are furnished to live in, not just to sleep in: bed linen, towels, kitchen equipment, a washing machine, a dishwasher and a smart TV in the apartments with a kitchen. Fast fibre Wi-Fi is in every apartment, which matters to the remote professionals and project workers who make up much of who stays.

The bills are one line. There are no accounts to set up with an energy company or a broadband provider, no council tax registration with BCP Council and no TV licence to buy. Every building has free private parking on site, and every resident can use the gym and games room at The Shore House Hotel, open 24 hours a day. The Flexiestays team answers 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Who stays

People who need a home in Bournemouth for a month, a season or longer, without buying furniture or signing a year's contract:

  • project workers and contractors on jobs of three to twelve months;
  • people relocating for work who rent furnished while they find a permanent home;
  • remote professionals spending two to six months by the sea;
  • healthcare staff and visitors at the Royal Bournemouth and Poole hospitals;
  • corporate teams, students and academics on a term or a contract;
  • households placed by an insurer while their own home is repaired;
  • families visiting someone in hospital or at university.

Moving to Bournemouth covers the town itself, and the best areas to rent in Bournemouth helps if you plan to take a tenancy afterwards.

The buildings

The Tower House Hotel, on West Cliff Gardens above West Cliff Beach, has studios, one-bedroom apartments (some with a garden or balcony), sea-view apartments, family apartments and a penthouse. The beach is under two minutes away.

The Cliff Heights Hotel and The Cliff Manor Hotel, also on the West Cliff, have one-bedroom garden apartments and two-bedroom sea-view apartments with a balcony. Cliff Manor is a restored Victorian building a short, mostly level walk from the town centre.

The Shore Retreat Hotel and The Shore House Hotel stand side by side on the West Cliff, with double and family rooms. The Shore House holds the gym and games room every resident uses.

The Pebbles Hotel, The Coast Hotel and The Seabreeze Hotel are on St Michael's Road on the West Cliff side of the centre, with rooms, studios and one-bedroom apartments with a kitchen or kitchenette, and a penthouse at Pebbles and at Coast.

All have fast Wi-Fi, smart TVs and lifts in most. Check-in is from 15:00 and check-out by 10:00. Pets are not permitted, except assistance dogs by prior arrangement. Browse what is free now on property to rent and property to rent in Bournemouth.

How booking works

Book online at Flexiestays with live availability for your dates, or send an enquiry with your dates, the number of people and whether you need parking, and we will confirm which apartment is free. If you already live locally, we can arrange a viewing of an available apartment first. Book direct for the best rate.

The deposit is taken at booking and returned after check-out, less any damage or extra cleaning. Arrival instructions with your bay and the door codes arrive before check-in.

A serviced let, not a tenancy

A long term let is a serviced let: a furnished apartment with bills and 24-hour support included, for a stay of 28 nights or more. It is not an assured shorthold or periodic tenancy, which is why there is no fixed term, no referencing fee and no deposit scheme paperwork, and why you can extend or leave without the notice rules of a tenancy. We use the right agreement for the length and purpose of each stay. If you want a home for years on a tenancy instead, our tenants hub explains how renting a landlord's property works, and long stay or tenancy compares the two. This is general information, not legal advice.

Companies and relocations

Companies booking for staff receive VAT invoices and a named account manager, and can hold several apartments in one building. Corporate lets covers monthly billing and flexible end dates, and corporate lets and relocation explains how relocation agents use furnished stays.

Letting your own furnished flat this way

The same demand fills furnished flats that are not ours. A landlord or holiday let owner with a furnished flat near the beach, a hospital or the BIC can let it for stays of 28 nights or more through the Flexiestays platform, rather than on a tenancy or only in the summer. It suits flats in central Bournemouth, the cliffs, Poole and Christchurch; the lease, the mortgage and the council tax position decide whether it is allowed and whether it pays. Long term lets in Bournemouth, in Poole and in Christchurch show the local picture, winter lets explains the season, and list your property starts the conversation. Fees are on our fees page; landlords can start at the landlords hub.

I've had a really positive experience

I've had a really positive experience with the Airbnb building services, and I'd especially like to recognise Nat, Jack, and Reece for how helpful, friendly, and professional they are. They're always approachable, responsive, and willing to go the extra mile to help resolve any issues or answer questions. Their attitude makes a real difference and creates a welcoming experience for residents and guests. A special mention has to go to Natalie, who has been exceptionally helpful. She is consistently kind, attentive, and proactive, and always makes sure things are dealt with properly. Her dedication and willingness to help really stand out and are very much appreciated. Thank you to the whole team for all your hard work, it definitely doesn't go unnoticed!

Lovely and cosy apartment in the centre

Lovely and cosy apartment in the centre of Bournemouth, and managing to still be quiet. Close to the train station (and buses), big Asda superstore, town centre, park and the beach. I have stayed so far in 2 different apartments in the same building on 2 separate occasions. Both, lovely decorated, with everything one may need for a short or longer stay. A kind of apartment you just want to stay in the whole day! I would definitely recommend.

FAQs

Long term lets: common questions

What is included in a long term let?

Electricity, gas, water, fibre Wi-Fi, council tax, the TV licence, a private parking space and use of the 24-hour gym and games room. The apartment is furnished with bed linen, towels, kitchen equipment, a washing machine, a dishwasher and a smart TV. The 24/7 team is on hand throughout the stay.

What is the minimum and maximum stay?

The minimum is 28 nights. There is no fixed maximum: residents extend month by month, subject to availability, and the average stay is over 19 nights across all bookings. Tell us your likely end date when you enquire and we will say which apartment can hold you for the whole period.

Is a long term let a tenancy?

No. It is a serviced let of a furnished apartment with bills and support included, not an assured shorthold or assured periodic tenancy. That is why there is no twelve-month contract, no referencing fee and no deposit scheme paperwork. We use the right agreement for the length and purpose of the stay; this is not legal advice.

How do I book?

Online at flexiestays.com with live availability and prices, or by sending an enquiry with your dates, the number of people and whether you need parking. If you are already in the area we can arrange a viewing of an available apartment before you book.

How much does a monthly stay cost?

It depends on the building, the apartment type and the season, and every bill is included in the figure. Listings on this site show the terms and print the rent once confirmed; flexiestays.com shows live prices for your dates. Booking direct gets the best rate.

Is there a deposit?

A standard cleaning and security deposit only, taken at booking and returned after check-out less any damage or extra cleaning. There is no holding deposit, agency fee, referencing fee or inventory charge on top of the stay.

Can I let my own furnished flat this way?

Often, yes. A furnished flat in Bournemouth, Poole or Christchurch near a hospital, a university or the beach suits stays of a month or more for contractors, relocations and visiting staff. Whether it works depends on the lease, the mortgage and the council tax position. Our winter lets and holiday let management pages explain the route.
