Need somewhere now?
The group's stock is the quickest answer: 130 apartments in eight buildings in central Bournemouth and on the West Cliff, let from 28 nights with electricity, gas, water, fibre Wi-Fi, council tax, parking and gym included. Why Walkford houses suit long stays
A working guest wants three things: parking, space to work and a quiet night. Walkford houses have drives and gardens, and their roads are residential. Hinton Admiral station gives commuters a direct line to Southampton and London Waterloo, and the A35 takes contractors to Hurn. For families placed by an insurer, a three-bedroom house with a garden near Highcliffe's schools is exactly what is needed.
Owners gain too. The house stays furnished and in your control, earns in months it might otherwise stand empty, and can return to family use or a holiday let later.
How it works
We visit and agree which months the house is available. The platform lists it, checks each guest, takes payment and arranges the clean and the linen between stays. The guest pays one price covering rent and bills: electricity, gas, water, broadband and council tax. We answer the guest during the stay and inspect at the end. Flexiestays charges 8% on the bookings it brings to a managed property; management is quoted after we see the house.
Getting the house ready
Fire-safe furniture, an equipped kitchen, a washing machine, linen and towels, reliable broadband and a table or desk to work at, plus the gas, electrical, alarm and EPC checks that apply to any let. Our guide to furnishing a let has the list, and the guide to long stays and tenancies explains the agreement.

Walkford is a quiet residential village behind Highcliffe, on the Dorset side of the Walkford Brook, which marks the county border with Hampshire and New Milton. Homes are mostly bungalows and detached houses with gardens and drives, and they rent and sell to families, retirees and people who want the beach and the New Forest within reach.
The Flexiestays group's 130 apartments are in central Bournemouth and on the West Cliff, in BH2, not in Walkford. What Walkford offers long-stay guests is different: a furnished bungalow or family house with a drive and a garden, near Hinton Admiral station and the A35, with Highcliffe's shops a short trip south.
The people who need one for a month or more are a mixed group. Contractors on projects at Bournemouth Airport and the Aviation Park at Hurn. Staff on placements at the Royal Bournemouth Hospital. Retired couples who have sold a home elsewhere and are buying a bungalow in Highcliffe. People relocating to Christchurch or New Milton for work. Households placed by an insurer while their own home is repaired. And families who need to be near an older relative in Highcliffe for a few weeks.
A stay of 28 nights or more, furnished and with bills included, for someone whose main home is elsewhere is a serviced let rather than an assured tenancy. A guest who settles for many months may be a tenant in law, so the agreement must fit the stay.
Who rents and buys in Walkford
- Retirees and downsizers. Level bungalows with gardens and drives, close to Highcliffe's shops and the clifftop, draw people retiring to the coast. They buy most of the bungalows that come up and rent while they search.
- Families who want space. Larger plots than central Highcliffe, quiet closes and schools nearby bring families relocating to the Christchurch area, as tenants and as buyers.
- Commuters and the main line. Hinton Admiral station gives Walkford a direct line to London Waterloo, Southampton and Bournemouth. People who work partly from home and travel to London or Southampton a few days a week rent and buy here for it.
- Weddings, events and visiting families. Highcliffe Castle and the Chewton Glen hotel across the brook bring guests for weddings and events, and families visiting older relatives in Highcliffe need somewhere for weeks at a time. Both feed furnished lets.

Long term lets in Walkford: questions
Can I rent a furnished house in Walkford for a few months?
Sometimes. We let landlords' furnished houses in Walkford through the Flexiestays platform when one is available. If you need to move in quickly, the group's 130 apartments in central Bournemouth and on the West Cliff are let from 28 nights with bills included.
Who books long stays in Walkford?
Contractors at the airport and the Aviation Park, hospital staff on placements, couples between selling and buying, people relocating to Christchurch or New Milton, families placed by an insurer, and relatives staying near an older family member in Highcliffe.
Is a long stay a tenancy?
No. A furnished stay of 28 nights or more, with bills included, for someone whose main home is elsewhere is a serviced let. A guest who makes the house their only home for many months may be a tenant in law, so we use the agreement that fits each stay. This is not legal advice.
What do I earn by letting my Walkford house this way?
That depends on the house, the season and the demand, and we give a figure after a visit rather than a general number. Flexiestays charges 8% on bookings it brings to a managed property; management of the stays is quoted separately.
Can I keep the house for my own use some of the year?
Yes. You choose which months the house is available. Many Walkford owners keep the summer or Christmas for family and let the rest of the year to working guests. Each booking has a fixed end date agreed before the guest arrives.

I've had a really positive experience
I've had a really positive experience with the Airbnb building services, and I'd especially like to recognise Nat, Jack, and Reece for how helpful, friendly, and professional they are. They're always approachable, responsive, and willing to go the extra mile to help resolve any issues or answer questions. Their attitude makes a real difference and creates a welcoming experience for residents and guests. A special mention has to go to Natalie, who has been exceptionally helpful. She is consistently kind, attentive, and proactive, and always makes sure things are dealt with properly. Her dedication and willingness to help really stand out and are very much appreciated. Thank you to the whole team for all your hard work, it definitely doesn't go unnoticed!
Great accommodation and location
Ease of booking. Great communication with the team. Moved to the area and stayed while purchasing property. Very flexible regarding duration of stay. 2 months. We stayed in 2 different apartments. Both lovely. Quiet. No hassle. Also location awesome. A few minutes walk to the beach and town. Thanks again everyone at Flexistays Bournemouth. Highly recommend
Lovely and cosy apartment in the centre
Lovely and cosy apartment in the centre of Bournemouth, and managing to still be quiet. Close to the train station (and buses), big Asda superstore, town centre, park and the beach. I have stayed so far in 2 different apartments in the same building on 2 separate occasions. Both, lovely decorated, with everything one may need for a short or longer stay. A kind of apartment you just want to stay in the whole day! I would definitely recommend.
