Renting in Bransgore
What comes up to rent is a house: a cottage near the village centre, a bungalow, or a detached family home with a garden. Families take them for the village primary school and the space; older tenants for the shops, the pharmacy and the quiet. Rentals are few, so register early and expect to need a car.
For a furnished house for a month or more, long term lets in Bransgore explains how a landlord's furnished home can be let from 28 nights with bills included, and winter lets in Bransgore covers November to March.
Buying and selling in Bransgore
Buyers are families moving to the Christchurch side of the forest, retirees who want a village with its own shops, and people who keep horses or walk the forest every day. Homes close to the open forest, with large plots or land, sit at the top of the market. Whether a house is inside the National Park matters at a sale, because it decides how far a buyer can extend.
Selling your property in Bransgore explains how we market a forest-edge home, and property valuation in Bransgore sets out what moves the figure.

Letting here follows Hampshire and New Forest rules, not BCP's. The landlord legal checklist lists what every let needs, wherever it is.
Getting around
Hinton Admiral station is in the parish, with trains to London Waterloo, Southampton and Bournemouth, but it is a drive from the village centre. Christchurch is a short drive south-west, the A35 runs to the south, and the A31 at Ringwood links to Southampton and the M27. Buses are limited, so a drive and a car are part of village life.
Nearby areas
Burley is north through the forest and Ringwood is the market town beyond. Burton and Christchurch are to the south-west, and Walkford and Highcliffe are south towards the coast, back on the Dorset side of the county border.

The homes.Period cottages near the village centre, detached houses and bungalows from the 20th century on generous plots, newer family homes on small estates, and houses with land or paddocks towards Thorney Hill and the forest. Almost all freehold. Very few flats.

Who rents and buys in Bransgore
Families who want space and the forest
Larger gardens, village schooling and the forest on the doorstep draw families relocating to the Christchurch side of the New Forest, as tenants and as buyers.
Retirees and downsizers
Bungalows in a village with its own shops, pubs and pharmacy, a short drive from Christchurch and the coast, suit people retiring from towns and cities further away.
Riders, walkers and dog owners
Houses with land or paddocks near Thorney Hill, and homes a short walk from the open forest, are bought and rented by people who keep horses or walk the forest every day.
Second home buyers
The forest and the coast within one short drive bring second home buyers. New Forest District Council's 100% council tax premium on furnished second homes, at the time of writing, now weighs on that decision.

Outstanding from start to finish
The apartment exceeded our expectations with its modern design and thoughtful touches throughout. Walking distance to both the seafront and shopping areas made it incredibly convenient. Clear instructions, responsive host. Would absolutely stay here again on our next visit to Bournemouth.
Modern, clean and superbly located
Lovely apartment in very close proximity to Bournemouth town centre and beach. Modern, very clean and well equipped. Onsite parking was a big plus, making it easy to explore the area. The host was very responsive and helpful throughout our stay.
Second stay, and we'll be back
Great apartment at a perfect location. Jack and the team were so easy to deal with. This is our second time at this apartment block and we'll definitely be returning. Clean, well-maintained, and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay.

Estate agents in Bransgore: questions
Which council covers Bransgore?
New Forest District Council, in Hampshire, not BCP Council. It bills council tax, including its 100% premium on furnished second homes at the time of writing, and handles HMO licensing. Planning is New Forest District Council's for most of the village and the New Forest National Park Authority's for the part inside the Park.
Is Bransgore in the New Forest National Park?
Partly. The village straddles the National Park boundary, with most of it outside. Whether a particular house is inside decides who handles planning and how strict the rules on extensions and new buildings are. Check the address on the National Park Authority's map before you buy or extend.
Is Bransgore a good place to rent?
For families, retirees and anyone who wants the forest close by and a village with its own shops and pubs, yes. Homes are mostly houses and bungalows with gardens, and few come up to rent. You will need a car for most journeys, as the station is a drive from the village centre.
Why is Bransgore's postcode Christchurch if it is in Hampshire?
Bransgore's post town is Christchurch and its postcode is BH23, but it lies in Hampshire and New Forest District. Postcodes follow the postal network, not council boundaries. For council tax, licensing, planning and schools, the Hampshire authorities apply.
How far is Bransgore from the beach?
A short drive. Mudeford Quay, Avon Beach and Highcliffe are south of the village, beyond Christchurch's eastern edge. Families often split their days between the forest and the coast, which is part of why the village appeals to tenants and buyers moving from further inland.
